Biography

Babs Ogundeyi is the CEO and co-founder of Kuda Technologies, a fintech company on a mission to make financial services more affordable, accessible and rewarding for every African.

Starting with Nigeria where its digital-led bank has more than 2 million customers, Kuda is giving Africans a better alternative, with personal and business banking delivered through digital devices, free transfers, smart budgeting and instant access to credit.

Kuda has raised over $90 million from institutional investors including Valar Ventures and Target Global, and is now valued at $500 million.

Before starting Kuda, Babs advised some of Africa's biggest banks and was a Special Adviser on Finance in the Nigerian government. He is also a founder of two other companies.

Founded in Nigeria by Babs Ogundeyi and Musty Mustapha in 2019, Kuda has offices in London, Cape Town, and Lagos, Nigeria - where it operates as Kuda Microfinance Bank under license from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Kuda launched its beta app in August 2019.

The company provides financial services through its suite of apps for Android phones, iPhones and the web, allowing everyday Nigerians with internet access to operate a spending account, access instant credit, save money automatically and earn annual interest without the burden of traditional bank charges such as card maintenance fees, account maintenance fees and excessive transfer fees. It also issues free debit cards which are delivered across Nigeria at no cost.
