About the Competition

Calling all startups and entrepreneurs: applications to the 2026 MIT FinTech Conference's Startup Pitch Competition will go live December 8th!

Submit your application by December 26, 2025 for a chance to win up to US$30,000!

Held in conjunction with the MIT Sloan FinTech Conference, one of the largest student-run conferences in the world, participants in the Startup Pitch Competition will be featured in front of our audience of investors, students, and professionals as well as a judging panel of industry experts.

2026 Eligibility Criteria:

• Core Business Focus: Eligible companies must have their core business focus in Fintech, i.e. the use of technology to support or enable banking and financial services. Examples of relevant sectors include, but are not limited to, payments, lending, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance (DeFi), and insurance.

• Funding Limitation: Companies that have received equity funding in excess of $2 million USD at the time of application are not eligible.

• Development Stage: Applicants must be at a post-production stage with at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) at the time of application.

• Employee Count: The number of employees, including the founding team, must be less than or equal to 10.

• In-Person Attendance: At least one representative from the participating company is required to attend the MIT Sloan Fintech Conference in person.

• Geographic Scope: This opportunity is open to companies located and operating in any geography. Please note that all travel, accommodation, and related expenses for attending the conference are the responsibility of the participating company and will not be covered or reimbursed by MIT Sloan.
