Biography
Anna Counselman is a Co-Founder of Upstart (NASDAQ: UPST), a leading AI lending startup with more than $160M in venture capital funding. In addition to founding the firm in 2012, she currently acts as Head of People and Operations where she drives the firm’s customer experience and culture-strategy alignment. She helped scale Upstart from zero to more than 1,000 employees and originate more than $6 billion in loans. Prior to UpStart, Anna spent time at Google, growing its Gmail Consumer Operations from 150 million to 450+ million users and launching the company’s global Enterprise Customer Programs team. She has also held a variety of operations roles at McMaster Carr as well as several other startups.
Anna received a White House Champion of Change award and was recognized as one of Silicon Valley Business Journal's 40 under 40. Anna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University with a BA in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
